पत्रकारों को श्रद्धा निधि राशी की 35 हजार की अगली किशत शीघ्र दी जाये

भोपाल 27 जुलाई 2013। इंडियन फेडरेशन आफ वर्किग जर्नलिस्ट यूनियन से संबंद्ध एम0पी0 वर्किंग जर्नलिस्ट (आई एफ डब्लू जे) के पूर्व उपाध्यक्ष राजेन्द्र कश्यप ने म0प्र0 के मुख्यमंत्री शिवराज सिंह चौहान एवं जनसंपर्क मंत्री लक्ष्मीकांत शर्मा मुख्यमंत्री के मुख्य सचिव मनोज श्रीवास्तव आयुक्त जनसंपर्क राकेश श्रीवास्वत को एक पत्र भेजकर मांग की है कि बुजुर्ग व वरिष्ठ पत्रकारों की श्रद्धा निधि की पूर्ण राशि शीघ्र ही दे दी जावे। आगामी 35 हजार रूपये के दिये जाने वाले चेकों में कोई त्रुटि न हो यह सावधानी रखी जाये। पुनः मध्यप्रदेश के पत्रकारों से श्रद्धानिधि प्राप्त करन हेतु आवेदन 17 अगस्त तक लिए जा रहे है, उनकी छानबीन अच्छी तरह से हो। वास्वतिक बुजुर्ग एवं वरिष्ठ पत्रकार को ही श्रद्धानिधि का लाभ शीघअतिशीघ्र मिल सके। सितम्बर वर्ष 2013 से मध्यप्रदेश विधान सभा के चुनाव आचार संहिता लागू होने से पूर्व ही श्रद्धानिधि की संपूर्ण राशि पत्रकारों को दे दी जाये।

पत्रकारों के नाम पर अपनी रोजी रोटी बटोरने वाला राधा वल्लभ शारदा के भ्रष्टाचार और धोखाधड़ी कर अपनी दुकान चलाने का षडय़ंत्र अब चन्द दिनों का है जो अंतिम सांसे गिन रहा है। पत्रकारिता की पवित्र गंगा को अपनी भड़वागिरी से मैली करने का प्रयास किया गया। वहीं प्रदेश के पत्रकारों को अपनी ढाल बना कर प्रदेश शासन को ब्लैकमेल कर सुख भोगा। प्रदेश के पत्रकारों को इतना कमजोर बना दिया कि वे पिछले तीन दशकों से किसी शासकीय लाभ लेने लायक नहीं रहे।

पत्रकारों का शोषण कर शारदा ने शासकीय सभी सुखों का भोग स्वयं प्राप्त कर रहा है। प्रदेश के पत्रकारों के अधिकारों हितों की बलि लेकर शासन से सौदा कर सरकारी बंगला, गाड़ी, विज्ञापन, ऐशो आराम का लाभ ले रहा है। इस खुटकर्मी की हरामखोरी की पूरी कहानी हमें शोषित पत्रकारों और जनता से बताना जरूरी है। वर्ना ये पत्रकारों के नाम पर कलंक का दाग हमेशा रहेगा और ये भोले भाले पत्रकारों का बलिदानों पर ऐश करेगा। वहीं पीडि़त पत्रकार सदैव अपने जीवन यापन के लिये भटकता और बेवकूफ बनाता रहेगा।

आर.व्ही. शारदा नाम है इसकी जिसने अपनी थाली में खाना परोसा उसी की थाली में छेद कर डाला। ये षडय़ंत्रकारी फितूरी दिमाग ने सदैव भाडूगिरी की है ना कि पत्रकारिता। इसने जिस संस्थान के साथ कार्य किया उसने इसकी कूटनीति और धोखाधड़ी के कारण इसको बाहर निकाल फेका। ये सभी कहानी हम आपको सिलसिलेवार पढ़वाते रहेंगे अभी ताजी ताजी खबर जान ले जो इस प्रकार है:-

श्रद्धानिधि प्राप्त करने में शारदा की धोखाधड़ी
म.प्र. राज्य शासन ने मध्यप्रदेश में पत्रकारिता करने वाले वरिष्ठ और बुर्जुग पत्रकारों के लिये श्रद्धानिधि योजना चालू की जिसकी स्वीकृति आदेश किये गये एवं विधिवत श्रद्धानिधि प्राप्त करने के लिये नियम एवं योजना बनाई गई। जिसमें 10 बिन्दुओं के आधार पर (बाक्स में) योजना का लाभ पत्रकारों को दिये जाने थे। श्रद्धनिधि स्वीकृत किये जाने के लिये विधिवत 13 बिन्दुओं की जानकारी सहित आवेदन पत्र चाहे गये थे। जिसके साथ नोट में चार बिन्दुओं में पहली शर्त श्रद्धानिधि की नियम एवं शर्ते बताई गई है वहीं बिन्दू क्रमांक 10, 11 एवं 12 के संबंध में शपथपत्र प्रस्तुत किया जाना हैं वहीं अन्य दो शर्ते पेमेन्ट के मामले की है। नियम और शर्तोँ से ज्ञात होता हैं कि यह योजना उन वरिष्ठ और बुर्जुग निर्धन पत्रकारों के लिये है जो अन्य कारणों से सक्षम नहीं। वहीं बिन्दु क्रमांक 3 स्पष्ट करती है कि आवेदक आयकर दाता श्रेणी में नहीं आता है वहीं इस बाबत शपथपत्र भी चाहा गया। बिन्दु क्रमांक 7 पर स्पष्ट बताया गया हैं (ज्यों का त्यों) अधिमान्य पत्रकार पर किसी प्रकार का कोई अपराधिक प्रकरण दर्ज नहीं होना चाहिए। साथ ही आवेदन में बिन्दु क्रमांक 11 और 12 से जानकारी चाही गई। अब ये तो हो गई नियम शर्तों की बात:-

अब जानते श्री 420 शारदा की षडय़ंत्र और चालबाजी।
श्रद्धानिधि की जो रकम प्राप्त करने करने के लिये राधावल्लभ शारदा इन दोनो बिन्दुओं के कारण अपात्र है। शारदा को नियमित विज्ञापन प्राप्त होता है जो आयकर के दायरे में हैं और से आयकरदाता की श्रेणी में आते है और दूसरे बिन्दु के आधार पर आवेदक के ऊपर कोई आपराधिक प्रकरण दर्ज नहीं होना चाहिये तो हम बता दे कि शारदा के ऊपर धारा 420 का प्रकरण दर्ज (जनसंपर्क के सभी अधिकारियों को जानकारी है ) हैं। उसका भी हम खुलासा करेंगे। अब नियम विरूद्ध षडय़ंत्र कर इन्होंने श्रद्धानिधि में अपना नाम जुड़वा लिया इसका प्रमाण हैं जनसंपर्क संचालनालय मध्यप्रदेश का आदेश क्रमांक 5081/ज.सं.सं./ अधिमान्यता (श्र.नि.)/13-14 भोपाल, दिनांक 26 जुलाई 2013 हस्ताक्षरयुक्त आयुक्त जनसंपर्क श्री राकेश शर्मा पत्र के साथ प्रथम सूची जारी की हैं उसमें 48 नम्बर पर इनका नाम प्रदर्शित हैं जिसमें बकायदा क्रमांक 48श्री राधा वल्लभ शारदा, भोपाल जन्म्तिथि 01/02/1943 आयु 69 वर्ष दर्शाई गई हैं। अब जब श्रद्धानिधि योजना का लाभ प्राप्त करने के लिये शारदा ने साजिश की है तो अब एक प्रकरण 420 का और दर्ज किया जा सकता है आखिर शासन को और प्रदेश के पत्रकारों का शोषण करने वाला शारदा को इस योजना के लाभ लेने की क्या आवश्यकता थी।

यहां ये बताना जरूरी है कि इनको हराम की खाने-पीने की आदत जो पड़ गई हैं हराम के खाने वाले को ही हरामखोर कहा जाता वहीं किया हैं श्री 420 शारदा ने। यह अच्छा होता की स्वयंभू अध्यक्ष अपने किसी अन्य सदस्यों के लिए या प्रदेश के पत्रकारों के लिए इस योजना का लाभ दिलाने के लिये प्रयास करते ना कि खुद के लिए हरामखोरी। संगठन चलाने के पीछे भी इसकी यहीं मंशा रही की उसका घर परिवार पलता रहे और वो पत्रकारों के नाम पर अय्याशियां करते रहे। शारदा के कई काले कारनामें हैं आप मित्रों को सभी जानकारी उजागर कर इस पत्रकार विरोधी विभीषण के चेहरे से नकाब उतार कर इसके चाल चरित्र असली चेहरा दिखा देंगे।

राज्य शासन ने मध्यप्रदेश राज्य पत्रकार अधिमान्यता नियम-2007 के अंतर्गत संभागीय अधिमान्यता समितियों का गठन किया है। शासन ने भोपाल संभाग, जबलपुर, इंदौर, सागर, रीवा, ग्वालियर तथा उज्जैन संभाग की समितियाँ 25 जुलाई, 2013 से एक वर्ष के लिये गठित की हैं। जारी आदेश के अनुसार प्रत्येक समिति में 8-8 सदस्य को रखा गया है। संभागीय अधिमान्यता की भोपाल संभाग की समिति में सर्वश्री राजेश शर्मा, कौशल चतुर्वेदी, प्रभु पटेरिया, सुनील तिवारी भोपाल, श्री नरेशराज साहू विदिशा, श्री गोविंद बड़ोने ब्यावरा (राजगढ़), श्री प्रदीप चौहान सीहोर तथा श्री महेश तिवारी इटारसी को रखा गया है। जबलपुर संभाग की समिति में श्री मनीष गुप्ता, श्री पंकज शाह, श्री रवीन्द्र वाजपेयी, श्री हाजी मुईन खाँ, श्री रवीन्द्र दुबे तथा श्री हर्ष पचौरी जबलपुर, श्री संजय सिंह सिवनी तथा श्री मनोज मालवीय छिन्दवाड़ा, इंदौर संभाग की समिति में सर्वश्री प्रतीक श्रीवास्तव, मुनीष शर्मा, सुदेश तिवारी, पुष्पेन्द्र वैद्य, अतुल पाठक, राजेश राठौर इंदौर, श्री छोटू शास्त्री धार, श्री बनवारी मेटकर बुरहानपुर, सागर संभाग की समिति में सर्वश्री प्रवीण पाण्डे, सुदेश तिवारी, पंकज शुक्ला, बसंत सेन सागर, श्री रवीन्द्र व्यास छतरपुर, श्री विजेन्द्र गर्ग पन्ना, श्री नारायण सिंह ठाकुर दमोह तथा श्री धर्मेन्द्र त्रिपाठी टीकमगढ़ को संभाग स्तरीय अधिमान्यता समिति में शामिल किया गया है। इसी प्रकार संभागीय अधिमान्यता समिति रीवा संभाग में श्री विजय विश्वकर्मा तथा श्री अजय प्रताप सिंह रीवा, श्री जयराम शुक्ला, श्री श्रीकुमार कपूर तथा श्री सूर्यनाथ सिंह सतना, श्री सौरभ पाण्डे शहडोल, श्री कार्तिकेयपति त्रिपाठी सीधी तथा श्री लक्ष्मीशंकर उपाध्याय उमरिया, ग्वालियर संभाग की समिति में सर्वश्री सुनील शुक्ला, अतुल तारे, जावेद खाँ, सुरेश शर्मा तथा संजय बैचेन ग्वालियर, श्री रवि जैन गुना, श्री प्रमोद भार्गव शिवपुरी तथा श्री योगेन्द्र पाल मुरैना,उज्जैन संभाग की अधिमान्यता समिति में सर्वश्री ओमप्रकाश सोनमने, संदीप वत्स, निरूत भार्गव, अर्जुन चंदेल तथा आनंद निगम उज्जैन, श्री अशोक झलोया मंदसौर, श्री शरद जोशी रतलाम तथा श्री रवीन्द्र सिंह देवास को शामिल किया गया है।

जनसंपर्क संचालनालय म.प्र.का षडय़न्त्र

मुख्यमंत्री शिवराज सिहं चौहान को ब्रान्ड एम्बेसडर बनाने, जनसंपर्क के षडय़न्त्र और धन के गबन को छिपाने के लिए, संपन्न और मुंह लगे लोगों को गुप चुप तरीके से बांटी पच्चीस-पच्चीस हज़ार रुपये की श्रद्धा निधि…

गुरू पूर्णिमा के पावन पर्व की गहमा गहमी में मध्यप्रदेश के मुख्य मंत्री शिवराज सिंह चौहान की सरकार के प्रचार सचिव एवं जनसंपर्क आयुक्त श्री राकेश श्रीवास्तव ने बुजुर्ग वरिष्ठ (अधिकतर आर्थिक रूप से संपन्न,व्यवसायी और आयकर दाता) पत्रकारों का श्रद्धा निधि राशि देकर की विधान सभा में की गई घोषणा पर क्रियान्वयन कर कूट रचित तरीके से अपना उल्लू सीधा करना प्रारंभ कर दिया है, ताकि नवम्बर 13 में संपन्न होने जा रहे विधान सभा के आम चुनाव में पत्रकारों को मैंनेज किया जा सके.

ज्ञात हो कि वर्षो से अपने अधिकारों के हक के लिए केरल सरकार के पेटर्न पर मध्यप्रदेश के सभी पत्रकारों को पेन्शन की सरकार से अपील की थी, जिसमें समाचार पत्रों और न्यूज़ चैनलों के मालिकों की भागीदारी भी रहनी थी.

जस्टिस मजीठिया आयोग की रिपोर्ट एवं श्रम कानून के अनुरूप प्रस्ताव पर श्रम विभाग, जनसंपर्क विभाग एवं बड़े समाचार पत्रों के बहुउद्यमी मालिकों ,बड़े-बड़े मीडिया हाउस के स्वामीयों से चर्चा के बाद में इस प्रस्ताव के क्रियान्वयन में सरकार को पसीना आ गया और व्यवस्था के क्रियान्वयन में कठिनाईयां एवं सरकार की बेचारगी नजर आती दिखी. तब आखिर में यह प्रस्ताव शतप्रतिशत शासन की राशि से श्रद्धा निधि के रूप में प्रस्ताव मान्य किया गया.

इस श्रद्धा निधि की पात्रता के लिए माप दण्ड भी तय किये गये जिनमें मुख्य थे पत्रकारिता के क्षेत्र में 10 साल का अनुभव और निरन्तर अधिमान्यता, 62 वर्ष की उम्र, आयकर दाता न हो अर्थात मूल रूप से पत्रकार हो. इस श्रद्धा निधि का शुभारम्भ करने के लिए एक आयोजन कर मुख्यमंत्री, विभागीय मंत्री की उपस्थिति में संपन्न होना तय था. इस योजना का शुभारम्भ चालू वित्तवर्ष के प्रारम्भ में अप्रैल में होना था. जो अचानक एक-एक व्यक्ति को बुलाकर सरकार के प्रचार सचिव एवं जनसंपर्क आयुक्त श्री राकेश श्रीवास्तव ने अपने कार्यालय में कार्यालयीन समय के बाद संपन्न करा दिया . यह श्रद्धा निधि की एक मुश्त 5 माह की वितरण राशि पूर्णत: संदेहास्पद ही नहीं बल्कि प्राप्त करने वाले पत्रकार भी विभाग/शासन के पूर्व से निर्धारित मापदण्डों के विरूद्ध संदेह के दायरे में है. अगर पात्रता रखने वाले आयकर दाता नहीं है तो वर्षो से अपने अपने

पत्र पत्रिकाओं में विज्ञापन लेने के लिए विज्ञापन शाखा में जमा अपना-अपना पेन नं. का विवरण क्यों छिपाया. अगर शासन ने पॉलिसी में संशोधन किया है तो उसका संशोधन आदेश कब शासन ने गजट में नोटिफिकेशन कराया.

कई ऐंसे भी पात्र है जो पत्रकारिता को लगभग छोड़कर व्यवसाय कर रहे इनकी हैसियत समाज में करोड़पतियों में गिनी जाती है. कई जनसंपर्क के लिए मुखबिरी और विज्ञापन और सुविधाओं की दलाली करते है और प्रतिवर्ष लाखों रूपये जनसंपर्क विभाग से अलग-अलग मदों में प्राप्त कर रहे है. इसमें एक संदेह यह भी है कि कहीं जनसंपर्क आयुक्त श्री राकेश श्रीवास्तव मुख्यमंत्री शिवराज सिहं चौहान को पहले प्रदेश में बाद में देश मे
ब्रांड ऐम्बेसडर बनाने के लिए, जनसंपर्क के षडय़न्त्रकारी कार्य और शासकी धन के गबन को छिपाने के लिए, संपन्न और अपने मुंह लगे लोगों को गुप-चुप तरीके से रू 25000/-25000/-श्रद्धा निधि के नाम पर देकर अपनी भी वाहवाही लूटना चाह रहे है और भविष्य में इनका मुंह बन्द रखने के लिए गलत तरीके से श्रद्धा निधि लेने के विरूद्ध धोखाधड़ी का प्रकरण पुलिस में पहुचाने का डर दिखाकर अपने मनमाफिक निधि प्राप्त कर्ता लोगों से पेड न्यूज चलाने के लिए ब्लैक मेल करने का भविष्य में इरादा तो नही है?

ज्ञात हो कि श्री राकेश श्रीवास्तव भी भविष्य में विधान सभा का चुनाव लडऩे का मन बना चुके है. जब राजनीति करनी है तो षडय़न्त्र नीति तो अपनानी ही पड़ेगी!

जनसम्पर्क आयुक्त द्वारा पत्रकारों को श्रृद्धा निधि भेंट की

भोपाल। कल दिनांक 23 जुलाई 2013 को भोपाल के वरिष्ठ पत्रकारों को राज्य शासन द्वारा घोषित श्रृद्धा निधि भेंट की गई। कार्यक्रम जनसम्पर्क संचालनालय में सांयकाल 5.30 बजे संपन्न हुआ। जिसमें भोपाल के लगभग 40 पत्रकारों को सम्मान पत्र एवं पांच माह का चेक जनसम्पर्क आयुक्त श्री राकेश श्रीवास्तव द्वारा पुष्पगुच्छ के साथ दिया गया। -

Itanagar, April 19: The Indian Federation of Working Journalists (IFWJ) and the National Federation of Newspaper Employees (NFNE) today strongly condemned the vandalization of the office of The Arunachal Times on April 15 last. In a statement, IFWJ General Secretary Parmanand Pandey said, “This is a challenge to the freedom of speech and expression by the hoodlums and anti-social elements. The State Government must immediately swing into action to bring the culprits to book, and demanded adequate compensation and protection to the publishing house.” No one was arrested in connection with the vandalizm in the office of the The Arunachal Times, a premiere newspaper of the State and the Northeast. The NFNE has also condemned the attack and urged the authority to book the culprits immediately. The NFNE extended its moral support to the decision of Arunachal Pradesh Union of Working Journalists and Arunachal Press Club not to entertain any press releases issued by the government from April 24 till the culprits involved in the attack were arrested. “We extend our support to the media fraternity of Arunachal Pradesh at this hour, but we hope that the issue will be resolved before the state media is compelled to take the path of non-cooperation to government press releases” Nava Thakuria, zonal secretary of NFNE, said. IFWJ Working Committee Meet at Bhopal

The Indian Federation of Working Journalists (IFWJ) is to hold its Working Committee Meeting at Bhopal on 24th August 2008 at Bhopal. Delegations from Maharashtra, Uttaranchal, Kerala, Karnataka Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and many other states will to attend the meet, to be held at Hotel Palaash. The Working Committee is expected to focus on various aspects of the Wage Board.

The meeting will serve as an occasion for inauguration of the Syllabus of the recently launched Distance Education System (DES). Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Shri Shivraj Singh Chauhan, and president of the Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee President, Shri Suresh Pachouri, are expected to do the honours.

TIRUPATI: The two-day working committee meeting of the Indian Federation of Working Journalists (IFWJ) began here on Tuesday to discuss a range of issues concerning the print and the electronic media.

The session is being hosted by the AP chapter of the IFWJ against the backdrop of the criticism about the role played by the media especially the television channels in giving a blow by blow coverage of the recent terrorist attack in Mumbai.

IFWJ President K. Vikram Rao, who presided, registered the Federation’s protest against the government’s move to restrict pre-poll and exit-poll surveys. Rao said the session would also lay focus on whether or not there should be a code of conduct for the media. In view of what he called a media explosion, he also underscored the need for a Media Commission to be set up by the government.

FWJ CALLS FOR NEW WAGE BOARD, CODE OF CONDUCT

Shravanabelagola, Feb 22: Mass Media today is at cross roads in the country and so are journalists. Caught in the spiraling web of electronic and online journalism, working in the media has become more glamorous and thereby a lot more shallow, owing to increasing competition and race for breaking news, HH Swasthishri Charukeerthi Bhattaraka Swamiji, Pontiff of Digambar Jain Mutt and Head of Shravanabelagola Institutions lamented here on Wednesday.
Addressing the delegates at the 62nd National Convention of Indian Federation of Working Journalists (IFWJ) the Swamiji said conventional journalism, where the printed the word was truth personified, has suffered a dent. With the TV channels and print media jostling each other for space and advertisement revenue, job security for professional journalists has decreased. Contract system has come into existence and so has the hire and fire syndrome. On the flip side, lack of proper training and acclimatization, has resulted in erosion of values and professional ethics, he added.ught in by the strides achieved by science. "I am sure that all your demands will be met with the blessings of Bhagawan Bahubali and it is my desire that IFWJ convention should become a regular part of Mahamasthakabhisheka and hence, I hope to see you all here again in 2018," he said.
The Swamiji said non-violence and renunciation, enshrined in the life of Bhagawan Bahubali, is the only way to attaining lasting peace and happiness for the mankind. Humanity can ignore these lofty values only to its peril. The interest and attention the first Mahamasthakabhisheka of the new millennium drew from journalists and media from all over the world is an ample testimony to the renewed global interest in these hallowed ideals, he added.
More than 350 international journalists from 21 different nations covered the celebrations from January 22 to February 19, 2006. In all 2,500 journalists, representing more than 50 languages, descended on Shravanabelagola during the Mahamasthakabhisheka celebrations, covered live by Five TV channels. What drew the media attention toward the celebrations was not the mere spectacle of Mahamasthakabhisheka, but the message of non-violence and universal brotherhood it enshrined, he added.
"I will use the pristine water of River Ganga from Gangotri presented by journalists from Uttaranchal today for the special Mahamasthakabhisheka for journalists scheduled for Feb 23," he declared.
IFWJ President K Vikram Rao voiced his deep concern at the incompetence of the Dr.Manmohan Singh government in not setting up a new wage board for journalists even though the price index and inflation figures have changed dramatically over the decade. "We demand a living wage for journalists," he declared.Turning his attention to the Press Council of India, Rao said the Council was dead, and consequently the media has become a victim of yellow journalism and blackmailing. "We have to evolve a code of conduct for ourselves and a National Media Council, comprising even the representatives of the electronic media should be established, replaced the dead Press Council of India. This is the only way we can put an end to irresponsibility of the electronic media," he said.
On the price war launched by the monopoly English newspapers, selling newspapers at throw away prices, Rao said this unholy war between giant English language newspapers was killing language publications and adversely affecting small and medium newspapers. "If it continues this way, Indian democracy will be killed and the board of directors of monopoly press and not the electorate will decide who will be the PMs and CMs of this country. We demand the Union Government to fix a page-price ratio in order to stem such unfair trade practices," he urged.
Karnataka Housing Minister D T Jayakumar, inaugurated the convention standing in for Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy. In a speech read out by Jayakumar, Kumaraswamy said his Government was duty bound to protect the freedom of speech and expression and hence, the interests of the media and media persons. However, he expressed concern at irresponsibility reporting in some segments of the electronic media and stressed the need for all segments of the media to report fair. A good relationship between all the four wings, executive, legislature, judiciary and the press was necessary for protection of democratic polity, he added.

Pointing out that poverty anywhere endangers prosperity everywhere; he said it was up to the media to ensure that it makes a fair presentation of the facts with a positive take on events. Further, in the rapid commercialization of the media, it was also important to fight right balance between information and entertainment. Media should also revisit its morality and ethics; he said and added these measures were necessary if democracy was to remain intact.
KUWJ President V Venkatesh urged the State Government to provide bus passes to all journalists, increase the pension for retd.Journalists, and provide sites or plots to genuine journalists in different parts of the State.

The Indian Federation of Working Journalists (IFWJ) has invited Sri Lankan journalists for its plenary session at Guwahati, capital of Assam state in the north-eastern part of India in June, said IFWJ President K. Vikram Rao.

Rao also lauded efforts of E. Gopal and S.M. Karmegam, General Secretary and President of the Indo-Sri Lanka Journalists Friendship Association (ISJFA) in exchanging journalists groups between both countries for the past four years.

He also appreciated the hospitality extended to 27 journalists from the southern states of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Kerala by the Sri Lankan chapter of the two-nation association when they visited the country last year.

Rao has agreed to invite 60 journalists from Sri Lanka to the IFWJ headed by the President of the Sri Lanka Press Association D.F. Kariyakarawana. According to IFWJ Secretary General Parmanand Pandey, the team is expected to travel to Chennai and thereafter by train to Guwahati at consessional rates.

Arrangements could be made for journalists desirous of flying to Calcutta and travel a short distance to Guwahati or directly land at Guwahati, Pandey said.

According to Gopal, this would be a great opportunity for journalists to mix together and exchange and discuss professional matters.

XXVIIIth Triennial plenary session of the IFWJ Wed, 2010-02-17 02:12

A delegation (of union) will attend the 28th triennial plenary session of the Indian Federation of Working Journalists (IFWJ) at Rajgir (Bihar). The four-day conference opens on February 19.

The Bihar Chief Minister, Sri Nitish Kumar inaugurates it. Over a thousand delegates from all over India will attend the session which is being held in Bihar after 36 years.

The conference will discuss among other issues, the raging controversy on system of paid news and erasing the thin line between advertisements and news. A demand for a new media commission to inquire into the state of print and electronic media industry is also
on the agenda.

The convention will discuss among other issues the demand for wage revision in the newspaper industry, ethical conduct in the media world, new Press Commission and security of journalists on hazardous assignment.

The session will also discuss the draft memorandum to be presented in the Wage Boards for journalists and newspaper employees which will hold its meetings at different cities.

IFWJ president K. Vikram Rao is the journalist representative on these wage boards.
